A complete air photo survey of the whole of Scotland was carried out by the Scottish Office in 1988 in a joint project between the Scottish Development Department, the Forestry Commission, the Nature Conservancy Council (as was - now SNH), and the Macaulay Institute (MLURI)..

XYZ have recently completed scanning the entire 1988 analogue survey into digital form. This is now available as full orth-rectified mosaics for the Central Belt, Angus and Aberdeen in ECW format. Other areas are available as geo-registered images with ArcGIS / MapInfo .tfw/tab files.

The Central belt is in Colour. The rest of Scotland is Black & White.

The images are ideal for Establishing Ecological and Environmental Trends, Contaminated Land Studies, Historical Analysis and a great deal more.
