These images are from the National Archive. A complete air photo survey of the whole of Scotland was carried out by the Scottish Office in 1988.

XYZ are working in co-operation with the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS) to convert the 1988 analogue survey into digital rectified mosaics. 90% of this is now available in digital form. Work is ongoing.

The central belt is in colour. The rest of Scotland is black & white.

The images are ideal for establishing ecological and environmental trends, contaminated land studies, historical analysis and a great deal more.
