You can also upgrade your version of MapInfo from version 8.5 to version 9.0 for £394.00 (excl. VAT), or from version 8.0 or 7.x to 9.0 for £526.00 (excl. VAT). If you have a copy of MapInfo 7.5 you have until September 30th 2007 to purchase an upgrade. From 1st October upgrades will not be accepted for versions older than 7.8 and you will have to buy a full new copy. Maintenance and Technical Support (MATS) for one year is also available for £300.00 (excl. VAT). A demo version of MapInfo Professional is available here. MapBasic Programming Language 9.0:MapBasic isthe programming language for MapInfo Professional. All MapInfo users can run MapBasic .mbx programmes, but you need MapBasic in order to write and compile them. This product enables you to customise MapInfo to suit your needs, including writing programs to automate common tasks and creating extra tools and menus. The latest version of MapBasic is entirely free of charge and may be downloaded from www.mapinfo.com. Vertical Mapper is a suite of plug-ins for MapInfo Professional that enable you to undertake three dimensional modelling and analysis. DriveTime and Routefinder are two suites of plug-ins for MapInfo Professional that enable you to undertake route-finding across a network, create isochrone polygons (equal time from a starting point), calculate costs, optimise delivery routes, and more. DriveTime is from Pitney Bowes MapInfo and may be more appropriate for some users, while Routefinder comes from Denmark and is more suitable for others, especially users who have their own existing network.
