Technical
information
Superplan Data is the most detailed digital mapping of Great Britain
in site-centred form. Click here to see an example.

The very latest available survey information
We make nearly 5 000 updates everyday, so you can be sure of getting
the very latest map. Site-centred
By putting your focal point at the centre of the map, you see your
site relative to the surrounding area, and you only pay for the area
you want. Nationwide coverage
From city centres to upland moors, Superplan Data covers the length
and breadth of Great Britain. Incredible detail and accuracy
You get the detail you need from large-scale mapping, the precision
you would expect from the nation’s mapping agency. Back

Customised mapping
Superplan Data comes in Data Exchange Format (DXF™) files,
so it can be tailored to your needs. Viewed on screen, it
can be manipulated,
merged with other drawings, then plotted onto paper or film. With
the appropriate software, Superplan Data can also be used to
plot at a
range of scales, or changed to add other relevant information. Attributes – additional information about a geographical feature,
for example, a road’s number, maximum width and speed limit – can
also be stored and linked to features. Up to 60 layers
With so many variables available, you can remove features you do not
need, creating a cleaner and more focused way of working. Levelling and height information
With the relevant software Superplan Data allows you to generate a
third dimension, over and above basic easting and northing coordinates.
An invaluable tool for level surveys. CAD compatible
Because Superplan Data is supplied in DXF level 1, it is compatible
with most popular CAD systems, so you should not need to invest in
new software. Low-level data files
Superplan Data is vector data – simply a list of coordinates – so
files are small, quick to send via email, and storage is no issue. Back

Scale and source
The area you define can be a pocket of data within one National Grid
sheet or across several sheets, even those of differing map scales.
The minimum ground area covered for any order is 4 hectares, subject
to the minimum data charge set at the prevailing level. The maximum
ground area you can purchase is based on certain parameters. If the
majority (51% or more) of the area you define is 1:1250 scale data,
the limit in any one order is 250 hectares. If the majority is 1:2500
scale data, the limit is 1000 hectares, and if an order is 80% or
more of 1:10 000 scale data, the limit is 22 500 hectars. Back

What is needed to use the product? Software
Superplan Data is supplied in Drawing Interchange Format that is fully
compatible with AutoCAD release 12 onwards. You will require software
that can read drawings in DXF, for example, most CAD packages. Hardware
Provided that sufficient memory and storage facilities are available,
there are no specific constraints on hardware that may be used. Superplan
Data files vary in volume from less than 0.1Mb to 20Mb or even more. Typical storage volumes per Superplan Data file (uncompressed):
