The PDF is print quality and fully enabled for viewing and printing. It is fully enabled for editing so will open up into Adobe Illustrator CS6 or above with the layers, etc intact.
The GeoPDF format means that in addition to the normal characteristics of a PDF, for example quality printing, this PDF has embedded Latitude / Longitude co-ordinates. These may be accessed using the Analysis Tools in the Adobe Reader (Version 9 or above). Within the Adobe Reader you can also see all the layers and control them individually, so for example the roads layer can be turned on or off. Thus if you want to simplify the map you can switch off a selection of layers, for example to just leave countries and country names. In this map the Admin and Motorway Junction layers have embedded attributes meaning that within the Adobe Reader you can search e.g. by county name. The county will be outlined in the Adobe Reader highlight colour and you can zoom to it. Alternative click the Info tool on the map and the Adobe Reader will tell you the information found at that point.
